Themba And The Two Bartender

e9e7a7ea-0fea-49a9-927f-d7c6d20aa24e

There lived a guy named Themba, he was tall and handsome with a nice trimmed cut with burned sides. He lived in the city of Gauteng Johannesburg, Themba at that point was going through a rough path in his life. His wife left and divorced him. Themba would go far deep into the City of Johannesburg to a bar named The Cocktail Lounge. It was the best bar in the city with star recommendations. It had the best music that echoed as it hit the walls, there were beautiful ladies serving on a trey that would take his mind off his sorrows. At what Themba loved most about it was the bartender, he would make drinks that would set him free from worry, stress, anxiety and the pain he felt.

There was another bar that was just around the corner in which Themba would pass every time he would make his way to The Cocktail Lounge. This bar was not the most glamorous bar in the block and there was a rumour that they only served some kind of water there. The bar was called Hill Tops. It only had a few people, most of the costumers left to go to the fancier bar that most people would say was a paradise.

Themba developed a curiosity about the bar, but he was happy at The Cocktail Lounge. Even though he was hurting the rest of the day except for the time he was at this Cocktail Lounge for the two hours of paradise. Whilst at the bar Themba would do what he always enjoyed doing which was talking to the bartender, he became something like Themba’s priest, while he was indulging himself in drinking. The bartenders name was Seth Damion. Oh he had a clever tongue whatever words he said, would sound like the truth. He knew how to make people feel good about themselves. He would give his customers advice that seemed to be the cure for all their life’s problem, but was actually a match that would light a spark to them.

One fateful day, as Themba was walking down the road to the place he rest his mind. To lay in sins bed for the next hour. He felt the other bar calling him, this time it was not like the other time, it was like he heard a quite whisper in his ear saying ‘come’. Themba decided that maybe it’s time for a change of scenery for a while, so he made his way to Hill Tops. The place was like nothing he imagined, it seemed to be a regular bar on the outside. So Themba took a sit at the bar. At this point Themba started a conversation with the bartender as it was his routine of doing at this point, Themba read the name Jes on the bartenders name tag. The bartender tried to correct him but was shut down, Themba just wanted to get his worries off his chest with a drink of Hunters Dry or something strong like Vodka.

Themba asked for a drink Hunters to get his night started, the bartender said ‘sorry we don’t serve that here’. Themba then asked for a drink of Gin iced, the bartender also did not serve that too. The bar men then told him the only drink they served at this bar was water. Themba chuckled and said ‘really the rumours are true’ with a look of disbelieve on his face, he asked himself what kind of bar is this that does not serve alcohol, he then finally said with a higher pitch what do you serve then’, he was frustrated at this point and needed a drink to soak all his sorrows and worries. Jes told him that they only sold water not just any water, a special type of water that could only be found here witch was actually shipped from a foreign country.

Themba took the drink and had a sip of it, its texture was like water, but the taste was not like everyday water, it had a sweet taste to it and it had a small punch to it. It was unlike anything he ever had. Themba started talking to the bar man and said things he never had said to others and during this time he realised things that he was at fault for and finally took responsibility for it, Jes was there as a ear to listen and guide him. As Themba continued talking he drank more and more water. And he realised the more he drank the happier he would become. He asked the bar man what kind of water was this and the bar man answered, ‘Its living water’. He then further went on to say ‘My name is not Jes, but Jesus the uniform is getting old and I need to get that fixed, are you enjoying your drink.’

Themba was shocked and amazed he knew that there was something different to this bartender, he knew this was true deep inside his soul. His mind was blown wide open, he asked Jesus what is the reason for this encounter and he said ‘I am here for you, I am here so that you can have life, and have it to the fullest. I love you and want to set you free from the hole you are in, I’ve been called from the start and today you heard me. Take my living water and let me in so I can help you’. Themba was happy to surrender his life to the bartender, he knew there is nothing that can go wrong with him by his side.

From that day Themba was happier in life, and full of joy. He stopped drinking and changed his life for the better. Hill Tops bar mysteriously disappeared after that day. Themba thought maybe he was drunk that day and he was seeing things, but that day illusion or not his life was changed forever. Themba felt like he was reborn, a new person. He searched for the place where he could get some of that drink of water he had had in the bar, He found a church although the water did not come in the same shape, he still knew and felt, a gentle touch of that bartenders presence in the church. He finally was set let free from the prison he was in and brought in to the light, a better life of purpose and never ending joy like a fairy tale with a Happily Ever After.

The End.

He want to listen to all the things you want to say. He has not come t o condemn you (John 3:17), but to give you  life and life in abundance (John 10:10). He want you to come lay your burdens on him, so he can give rest to your soul and remove all the weight that on your chest (Matt 11:27-28).  28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am[f]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Reflection

fefa0d96-ea85-4264-98d0-6d39599eea4f

I am brunette

I am beautiful yet gorgeous.

And I am always on point.

Tall long legs,

Blue eyes.

Slim waist

Evenly toned skin.

Every day I face the mirror

It’s reflects truth of

How I look?

It tells me what works,

And what doesn’t

Its opinion is non bias.

10 min in day.

It judges my look.

And hands me the final vote.

When I leave Mirrors reflection

I am own my own.

Unable to view self (me).

I reflect back on what mirror showed me earlier.

I don’t forget my image,

I took a snap shot and

Stored into my memory.

Memories remind me of my beauty.

Mirror reveals.

Mirror tells truth.

Except the hearts reflection.

And how fare the heart?

Been thinking on What James said in James 1:24-26. We as people use mirrors every single day from brushing our teeth to calming our hair and for the ladies who use the mirror to do makeup. After all is done with we leave the mirror knowing that we look okay. You definitely won’t forget how you look. Like the way we look at ourselves in the morning we should look at it like the Bible, not just seeing it or browsing through it but be doers of what it says.

22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

I love women and the role the play in society. I love the strength and the unconditional love they have to overcome trials and obstacles, which I have seen from my own mom and the friends I have around me. Like people MJ, Dineo, Matevhu, Tshili and others. Women should be appreciated and valued more. I appreciate you guys, lots of love.

The Eternal Sun

Hello their Sun.
I've been meaning to ask you, how old are you?
For since I could remember you have always been around.
And you still look young as ever, while I grow older
Your shine, is as brighter as ever.

Through the years.
You have brought hope to the hopeless.
You have brought light to the darkness
Your rays causes darkness to hid and tremble.
You have touch those who are far, And you
Have guided them towards safety.

Your eternal touch is felt by all.
In this age and to the next.
In centuries past and centuries to come.
The one Truth that remains my dear friend.
Nothing is new under the Sun.

In Ecclesiastes 1:9 states that

"What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done,
and there is nothing new under the sun.'

That being said that in what ever we are going through in our lives other
people have experienced it since the beginning of time it may not be
the exact scenario, be it loss, betrayal, heartbreak or anything.
There is a Living God who can help you overcome you battles and
challenges that you are facing. Don't loss hope stay strong and keep going.

My Love For You

My love for you is deeper than the ocean

As wide as the east is from the west

As vast as the galaxy

It beginning but has no end

It is as certain as the hours on the clock

It’s mathematical equivalent to infinity (∞)

It is extravagant in all things

It’s forever merciful to the messy

It’s as radiant as the sun

And more beautiful than the heaven

It came to give without return

Forgive the unforgiving

And above all

LOVE the undeserving.

This poem speaks of Gods love for you specifically, you may be broken on the inside going through the most of life, you could wondering if God exist. Where ever you are, The Lord Jesus Christ is saying He loves you so so so much, more you can ever know.

Average

I’m not the most poetic

Nor am I the best singer.

Not always the smartest.

I am always seen but never chosen.

The words that I speak fade.

Average I was Born

Average I was called

And Average I was expected

To become.

Life revealed my faults.

The things I was never great at.

The awards that I never got.

The dreams I let go.

That the way life in this world works,

So I thought !

The truth is.

Excellence I was born too.

Excellence I was called too.

And that which I was called too, I became.

Patience

I was never be the one to be patient
I hate long queues that eat my time
Like I got nothing better to do.

It’s long been said be patient,
I hope I have one bone of patience
somewhere in my whole body.
In my wait I will imagine myself
In the comfort of my home relaxing.

On the other hand who ever dead
Of being patient? No one. I guess being
patience is just a part of life. We have all been there

and not always liked it unless you disagree.

If maybe there could be an award or prices given out for being patient.
The wait would so be worth it. Hopefully patience will one day very soon, shape my character and make be a more patient person. It sure would solve a lot more masses that I normally would have caused.

Exam

What is the thing everyone in his or her life has to go through?

There is no escaping it. Its aid to test your capacity as a person.

It strengthens your mind, body and soul, so I have been told.

This little thing is called Exams. Imagine you’re in a hall there before

Your eyes is a chair, a pen & paper on the table waiting for you,

As you sit down there is no turning back.

Reality then kicks in, that one piece of paper

Set before your eyes can make or break you.

At the first glance of the paper you realise,

I can’t do this on my own, so you resort to what many

Often do when our backs are against the wall and that is

Turn to God.

In that moment when it is just you, the paper and God

We tend to make a request “if only God you could do this for

Me I would do that for you” And some of us get that Yes.

But many of us get the Big NO, “the one who did not study”

As I flip through the pages of my life I have seen many times,

Exams have crushed many dreams.

But the One truth that remains about our little friend

Exam, it is a social contract designed to test men’s intellectual

Knowledge acquired for the betterment of all.

Lazy

There are days where I spent my days with Lazy.

He is always there asking to spend time with me.

Its hard to resist his word of relaxation and

non-productivity..

Hours turn into days each time i’m with him.

After a while I snap out of it,

I realized time went over my heard

like I was counting sheep as slept

  1. sheep 2. sheep 3. sheep …

I came to realize that my friend Laziness

was not a true friend but a liar.

When reality struck, he was  nowhere to be found.

I had to do my assignments, projects all the work alone.

Alone and with little too no time to spare.

I told myself that in my tomorrow,

I will make a decision.

When my friend Mr Laziness

comes for a visit .

We will find out then.

Will I invite him in or

will I ask him to turn back.

The book of the wise Proverbs, states in 10:4

“Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.”

[Student life, or having a job and family can be overwhelming at times and there are days you may feel or drop everything to do nothing all day, the solution is to manage time well to avoid being overwhelmed. It’s good to rest but don’t be lazy]

Identity

Who am I? Am I what I do? Am I who people say I am? Or Am I who my family say I Am?16 years old, lost and confused. Waves swept me from my feet into the ocean. Tossed back and forth by the waves and wind.

Lost at sea, in the middle of nowhere, people pulling me in all direction. Many voices called my Name through the storm, so I swam in circles going nowhere. Putting on the Identities which people gave me but none of them fit or was just right.

I finally stopped swimming, tired and hopeless I was. Every night I closed my eyes hopeless, empty and worn out. Months passed than years I was drowning sinking under the weight of life. Into the water I went slowly. But before I was under I saw something.

There was a man who came to me in the ocean. He walked on the water, His voice was like a roaring lion, He calmed the hash storm I was in with a word, He then pulled me out of the water, saving my life.

The man took my hand and called me son. His Love and warmth was all around me, He guided me to safety. In Him I found myself, my identity. Which is child of God, friend of God and beloved one of God.

In the waves of life I was lost, pulled in all direction by everyone, but one voice was louder, one person came looking. My father came down and found me, in the mist of my worst point, saved and adopted into His family. No greater Love is there then this.

Inspired by

1 John 3:1

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God…

And

Colossians 1:13

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
