The two births

In book of Peter is speaks of having a former life, this is a life before accepting Christ Jesus and being born again. The word says let go of sin having enjoyed it in your past life, now being born in Christ we are called to a new life in Him one of righteousness. Paul writes says that being new born believer lay aside malice, working of evil, adultery and everything the Bible classifies as sin. Seek relationship with God than the pleasures of the body for a while. The earth will soon fade away but eternity being God will never fade

Unlimited Grace- Grace in forgiveness

Grace in forgiving

img_5718

Forgiveness is one of the hardest thing to do for most people. Especially when someone has deeply hurt you. God releases grace for us to do that. A normal person will not be able to forgive someone for a horrible crime or offence they may have experienced in the hands of their propitiators. In the book of Luke we see the disciples shock, form Jesus statements. The scripture passage deals with forgiveness it says

Luke 17: 3-4

So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister, sins against you, rebuke them, and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent’, you must forgive them.

I want you to think of a scenario, what is the thing for you that would make it difficult to forgive a family member for. It could be your brother lying at you. Or the comments they make about your friends or girlfriend. Whatever it is as small or as big as it is, you are commended to forgive them and show them love. Doing that time and time and again you would get tired. This is why God grace on us will empower us to five the unimaginable wrong done to use.

Jesus and God’s thought life is way too out of our wheel house to understand. For example can you imagine what God is thinking right now at this instance? That would be a no for me. Isaiah 55 speaks on this. Remember Isaiah is a man who spent most of his time in the presence of God and in service of him for many years, and we see this verse in the scriptures.

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor or your ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My thoughts than your thoughts.”

In Psalms 139, it also emphasis this. It says…

17-18. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand, when I wake I am still with You.

The word describes the sum of the thoughts of God be as many as the grain in sand. For us to comprehend that would need a miracle. God way of doing things are far apart from our way of doing things. You will experience this soon in your life if you have not yet. For some of us who have you would ask God to do something for you and you think you will get that thing through A, B, C but God brings it through E, F, and G.

There is grace to forgive, it must have been hard for the Father to forgive all the sins of man that He would turn away from the sight of Jesus at the cross when he bared the weight of sin and darkness. God’s word teaches us to forgive. When we do forgive you will feel better and a weight of your back. Forgiveness most times is not for the person asking for it, but the person giving it. You forgive for your own health. People were not designed to carry that much garbage in themselves at some point the garbage will spill over and start poisoning you, and making you sick or anxious or stressed and so many other physical illnesses that come about from un-forgiveness.

  • How to forgive when you can’t

When it is hard to forgive, ask God for strength to forgive. God is glad and full of joy when we come before His presence to ask for Help. HE is waiting on me and you to ask for his help. Forgiveness has a lot to do with the heart. When you forgive someone the anger and the pain they may have caused does not go away immediately, it would require you forgiving over and over again. As you forgive God will be knitting and healing your heart again.

Trial & Tribulation

They say that they feel, You’re so far.

When your most near, in difficult times.

Your watchful and vigilant, when you test us.

The distance is suffocating

The trials and test fair but hard.

It’s like there is no air to breathe in

When your presence and touch fades.

And my heart shakes yet strengthened

Under trial.

The word is my sword

The scriptures give me hope.

For a better tomorrow.

A better future.

In the storm there is turmoil

My mind and heart scattered in all direction.

Slowly I’m stitched back together.

To make the trip out the storm.

Unlimited Grace part 2

Biblical Characters vs the present generation

Acts 9 speak much of the life of Saul more famously known as Paul. The man who has written majority of the New Testament and by his testimony we can see the grace of the Lord work in him. The bible states that Saul was the type of ma who would threaten Christians and would act on his treats. Saul was a Jew and hated the Lord and his disciples his occupation was to persecute believers. Saul’s name was well known and feared among believers. Where everything changes for Saul was when He was on his way Damascus, sent there by the order of the priest to arrest and imprison believers whether man or female.

He had an encounter with the Lord Jesus, the man’s people he was persecuting. The conversation between him and Lord went as follow…

Acts 9:5

“Saul, Saul why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go to the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

This was when the Lord blinded Saul. Eventually Saul got healed after following the Lords instructions, there are a few things that I like about this passage of scriptures.

  1. The Lord at that moment could have strike down Saul for all the crimes he has committed against Jesus followers.
  2. Saul was healed while the Lord could have left him to be blind for the rest of his life.
  3. Ananias obeyed the Lord while knowing he might very well lose his life in Saul’s hand.
  4. Saul received the Lord Jesus as his personal saviour and began to grow in the Lords teachings
  5. Saul started preaching and teaching the gospel to people in the temple and also to the Jews and proving that Jesus is the Messiah

The Lord is just and fair as we been through at the start, but here we see the Lords mercy that he has towards people. I see that Jesus also died at the cross for Saul as bad of a person he is, He had probably 1000 of deaths that he was responsible for, God showed him grace. The second point his when God spoke to Saul with an audio voice, we can see that Jesus wants to have a intermit moment with the Lord, establishing a relationship between himself and Saul, while at the same time conveying the importance of the message he wanted to deliver to Saul.

As you would read on, on how the story continues we read of Gods faithful servant Ananias. God showed him a vision and went, even though he feared for his life. I believe as he went and stepped out, the Lord strengthened him.

The amazing part of the story of Saul is that he gave his life to the Jesus shortly after he was healed. The Lord turned a man who had hardened his hearts against the Lord, that just amazing. Saul after that the Lord had graces him with knowledge and understanding and in a short time preaching and proclaiming the word of God and It says that he baffled the Jews. No one could have ever predicted this man, Saul life changing this drastically and picture him as a believer.

I want you to imagine in your minds, the kind of person Saul would have been like if he lived in today’s world? I see someone like Hitler, a man who has authority and has prosecuted Christians and has committed many atrocities in his life. Would you imagine God saving that person or that person life changing for good and becoming a follower of Jesus? For me Hitler would be my modern day Saul.

Bringing it back to us, many of us have nowhere near done some of the things this two man described have done in over lives. If the was a scale that would weigh our sins compared to them we would be the skinny boy on the scale and they would be the strong muscular guy on the football or rugby team. Yet we still feel think to ourselves that the Lord won’t forgive us for what we done in the past. Or we may have a misconception who God is. I use to be ashamed for my sin that put Jesus die for me on the cross but as time went by I realised that there is no shame in Christ Jesus. What had happened my understanding changed on how I saw things.

Understanding love

I realized that we fall in love and also love the people around us but the is greater depth in that love that it’s hard for us to explain. The Bible refers to God as Love, and he loves us so much. If we can experience his love for us and the magnitude of that love when we are in His presence. Imagine how much more we would love those close to us or the people we don’t even know. We need to go to Love Himself so we can love others as he intended us to.

The scripture in John 3:16 still rings wonder to my ears. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son.

Unlimited Grace

I believe that God is taking me on a journey to understand his unlimited grace and there is so much out there that we don’t understand about Grace just how big it is. We already know that God has given us undeserving grace for the wrong that we have done even though we should have been punished for our wrong. Grace does not just deal with sin, but it’s also Gods unmerited favour on us. When God blesses us with things we don’t deserve or giving us things we never asked for. When Santa would have put you on the Bad list God puts you on the Good list.

Yesterday or should I say for a while know God has been taking me through the scriptures, and I thought I got the full picture of what grace is, I seen some of my own weakness of where I thought I was good Christian deserving of His grace in my past. Okay now let’s dig in the scripture so I can take you through the scriptures so we may go on this journey together. I believe in this walk tighter we will discover new things about yourselves that your knowledge and understanding will grow as we unravel the thread of Grace.

For us to understand Grace we are first going to have to go to the other curtain of Grace with is sin. We need to see for ourselves why grace is so important to us in our Christian walk. We will be looking and breaking apart several scriptures in the Bible to give us insight on this. Before we go any further we need to define what grace is and sin in plan terms.

Sin is separation from God, And the gap is coursed by the action that we do that stand against Gods will on earth or purpose.

Grace is Gods undeserving unmerited favour on one’s life. Meaning you did nothing to earn or to deserve it. It’s given out of God’s love for you.

SIN

So it is a known fact that God punishes sin, Its Gods duty to punish wrong doing or those who are workers of evil. We will start our search in the book of Romans the 1st chapter from verse 18-32.

Verse 18-21

For the wrath of God is revealed form against from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

This brief passage of scripture gives us an overview of history of what had taken place in the beginning of when men first entered the earth. We can find more information about this in Genesis. That was when sin was birthed into the world. Due to the action of Adam and Eve, the first humans on Earth.

Here are key point that I’ve gotten from this passages

  1. God judges sin.
  2. Men are made in the image of God.
  3. They knew in their hearts right from wrong. And they grew cold in their hearts and turned against God over time.

God judges sin

God is a just God and he is all that is Righteous, and the Bible describes Him to be without sin, and that he is the only one who is worth to judge sin, for He is the impartial judge.

1 Peter 1:15-16

But a He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy”

1 Peter 2:21-23

For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”. Who when the hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate, when he suffered, he made no threats instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges.

[James 2:1-13]

Only Him who has no sin can judge seen, you may recognise this phrase, “with what measure you judge it will be judged back to you”.  The Father God know what best he is perfect and full of more love and compassion that me and you both could master up both in one 100 lifetimes. I personally don’t trust my judgement in most days.

Have you ever watched a court case on TV or a series where there is a court case? I personally enjoy series Law and Order or Suits. It’s hard to be sure is a person is guilty or not as a judge. Can you imagine the pressure that is put on our judges today to make the right decision? It’s just too stressful and too much work for us to do. That is why we leave God to make such decisions. God always knows best.

Men are made in the image of God

We are created by a creator, a designer an artist. He refers to us as his masterpiece. He made us with such love and there are scriptures that say he even has great plans for his creation. When God created us he inscribed his signature into our hearts, for we know that is where all the issues of life come flow. I believe that, that signature God left in our hearts it was his law inscribed in to our hearts, His will and dreams for us.

We start with a very famous scripture in Genesis when God first created the first man and women on earth.

Genesis 2:7

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.

 Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love, Therefore with living kindness I have drawn you.

Were created for with love in our creators heart and we were created to dwell in our Fathers house for all eternity never to be apart from him. To dwell his spender. To give him glory and honour.

And lift his name high. But a sin created a gap that separated us form the Fathers love. For many generation, all that time away from God men grew cold and moved away from the only true God in the book of Genesis 6 there is a story of The Tower Babel. Were men where serving themselves, building a tower to reach there God. From there on paganism arose and other religion that are big on idol worshiping or the creation of new Gods. Like the God of Thunder, Thor. I’m sure we have all seen the movies or heard of the movies where he has appeared in Avengers. And the more time we spent away from God we became perfectos of evil. And even created new sins too.

Hebrews 8 verse 10 it states that God will put a new law into our hearts. This means that there had to have been an old law in our hearts.

Hebrews 8:10

“For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

As God creation we are called to bee his people that is his purpose. When we look at the book of Romans we are looking at a world living in the dark, in the sense of being away from Gods light. Romans was written sometime after the Death of Jesus and the Disciples where sent to all the world. I’m not a historian but its common sense. There was little light in the world, there were still large parts of the world that have not yet heard the gospel. And the disciples had lots of work still to do.

They knew in their hearts right from wrong. And they grew cold in their hearts and turned against God over time.

If you would look farther down the passage of Romans 1 from verse 28 to 32. It describes the type of sins that the people of that era were committing, it was a lawless time and people would act according to their instincts like the bible describes wild beasts.

Romans 1: 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their Knowledge, God gave them over to a debased min, to do those things which are not fitting. Being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil- mindedness they are backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of who practice them.

I use to wonder why how people in the world could be so could and heartless. The things which we as people would do to one another. The wars and genocides of people that still occur in some parts of the country. I would watch the news and seen a glimpse of some of this things happening in the world or hear of something horrible that happend to a friend and ask myself this question, How can a person do this to someone? I still seldomly watch the news because of the things I see there. There was a day I asked God why the world like this is and I remember him saying that, there are many people whose hearts have grown cold and that they are no longer convicted by their conscious. Because they have become comfortable in there sin. I than understood that is why the gospel is so important it bring hope and it has the power to change the current circumstances. I Romans 1 we can see that the circumstances back than were like they are now. They gospel back than changed so many of those peoples life. Many came to follow Jesus. Showing that there is power in this name that was preached.

Jesus is the embodiment of Grace

Luke 2:10

Then the angle said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.”

Luke 2: 40

And the Child grew and become strong in spirit, filled with wisdom and the grace of God was upon Him.

Somebody said something so profound on the last Sunday of the year 2018. They said Jesus is the carrier of Grace. That was so profound I have never looked at grace in that light before. Jesus is Grace. It oozes out of him like a river of living water and it never runs out, He always want to give it out to those who are in need of it. I the first scripture, men is a witness to the greatest gift that is given to men. He became the atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world that we may be reconciled to God. We did not deserve such a gift, in fact we deserved to be punished for our sins.  Jesus came to the earth with a purpose and when it was time to fulfill what He intended to do, He went through with it. No is no greater Love than that. At a time when the disciples where clueless of what was going to take place even after Jesus told them more than once they did not believe.

The following verse says that ‘the grace of God was upon Him’ Jesus carries grace. Jesus became the bridge of reconciliation with God the Father. All because God loved us, there are some passages in the bible that says that the love of God surpasses all understanding. We cannot fathom the mind of God.

There is a quote that came to me it says

“God love for you is GREATER than your sin. Every day HE gazes upon you with Love. And He gives you an open invitation to came to Him, every day you breathe.”

Jesus states that he first loved us and he proved his love and died. You can find this passage in Romans 5:8. What I really what to say is that there is nothing we can possibly do to chase God away from us. Or anything that is we can do. There is no sin that we can do to commit that God can’t forgive us. Let’s go through some of the common sin that we see in today’s world

  • Theft
  • Sexual immorality
  • Prostitution
  • Lying
  • Murder
  • Drunkenness
  • Homosexuality

You see what I have come to realise is that the price has been paid for in full. There is no sin that he did not pay for in full. The problem comes in when we as people label sin and give them ranking. We say one sin is greater than another, for example we say lying is a small sin compared to murder. And that is not the way God sees it. God time in and time out tells us “He will never leave us”. So many time in the bible. The scriptures of Romans 8:35-39 it expresses to us nothing can ever separate us from the love of God.

Called to live in freedom.

The problem here now is, if you’re deep in sin like the once we mentioned. How do we than live a life free from the law that condemns us? We love God so much but we still have sin in our lives. As people we are good in hiding our sins from the rest of the world from our parents or those whom our actions will hurt. Is possible for us to obtain to live a holy life like that of Christ We are far away from being perfect and we are not.

I have come to realise that there is no way we can do this by ourselves. In John 14:16 it talks of a Helper. What is the job of a helper, he is there to help you in your lives journey. He lives in us and he is the whisper that speaks to us in times of need or just to talk to you as a friend. He only speaks what Jesus says and reminds us of what he said in the scripture. There is so much more than that in him.

John 14:16-17

“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him, but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. “ I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.

I have come to learn that there has been an idea of what it means of being a Christian. Which tends to push people away. I know God’s intention for us is to live a life from sin. But we still do, we all fall short of this, but every day we try still. This idea is deep in our subconscious. Let me give you an example.

If a pastor was to cheat to his wife, we would assume he has lost love for God isn’t. But in fact he loves God with a burning heart despite his short comings. We judge without even knowing it. We focus on the bad more than the good and we are quick to judge. How a life of a believe in Christ should look like, should not be our owns idea but God’s.

I use to be a hypocrite because I would try to be a good Christian and try not to break the rules and life a holy life. What I did not realise, I would judge others why is this person being two faced for example? Or why don’t they to this? It’s not my place to judge but to love others and care for them. God deals with the sin, not us, let’s not make ourselves God. You could be deep in sin and believe in God. I understand that it’s a process of transformation of the mind and soul when you start your relationship with God as stated in Romans 12:2. I will finish of with this scripture in Romans 12:3

Romans 12:3

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think soberly, as God has dealt to each ones measure

My elder brother told me we are all at different paces in our race of faith as said in Hebrews 12. You may be in the end of the race and your friend at the starting point and another at the middle. That is how life.
